Charlotte held her breath as Sorin ran to take off. She gripped his silky black and amber feathers tighter, and closed her eyes. Fall was here, her eyes were a distinct honey golden color, like the leaves of the surrounding trees. Her hair turned darker this season and skin paler. Now she sat gripping Sorin just behind his wings with her legs, take off was the scariest part of flying.
He started and gained in speed until he pushed hard off the ground, and when you are sure you are going to fall back onto the cold ground you open your eyes and see the tops of the trees. Charlotte laughed at her self and gave Sorin a good natured pat on his shoulder. They were flying. She leaned forward further onto his warm feathery back, shielding her face from the wind. They flew for a few minuets over the landscape and river, and Charlotte looked down over his side. She squinted and saw a cracked stone table below, this sparked something in her memory. She heard stories about this, she couldn't quite remember though. "Sorin." she called to the griffin "Could you take us down?" with a slight nod of his head they descended.
When they landed Charlie hopped off Sorin, gentley patted his beak as a thank you, and approched the table. Cracked in half, ivy growing thickly around it, it didn't look like much, but Charlotte remembered something. "Aslan." she whispered, at this Sorin put up his head, yes every one knew that name. This was were he had saved them form the queen. In silence she motioned for Sorin, he silently followed her as she maneuvered around the table and eventually through the forest, and they came to the clearing.
"Sorin!" she said excitedly "Sorin, this is were the camp was, this is were they prepared for battle, this is it!" Sorin began to look around on his own accord, sniffing the grass and taking an interest in different areas, not really listening any more. But Charlie just stood there, letting the idea form, yes this clouded sky has been clouded to long, she wanted to feel the sun on her skin once again gracing the earth with its warm rays, more than that she wanted peace and even vengeance on her king whom she loved so long ago, who caused her to be as she is. "This is it Sorin. This is were we make the difference."
Charlotte got to work "claiming" this land, she grew her house, twisting a couple trees, inter twining them so they made a cottage fit for her and Sorin. Here is were her camp would be, and hopefully allow light to pour once more on this wonderful land many call home.
